Our daughter has been attending Happy Mandarin Chinese classes for almost 3 years now. This is by far the best language coaching class I have come across in Dubai. Despite Mandarin being one of the toughest languages to learn – Happy Mandarin Teachers make this a fun yet profoundly learning experience. Model of 2 hours of person / in-class training followed by weekly homework, and 1:1 calls makes sure students are never “out of touch”. My son started his Chinese lessons in Happy Mandarin Chinese Language Trainings when he was 4 years old. He really enjoys and he can read a lot of Chinese characters. Before he refused to speak Chinese to me and now he understands mostly and will reply in Mandarin. Thanks to Reem the headmaster and Ji Laoshi who looks after him and encourages him. I enrolled my 3 kids in September 2023. In a span of just 5 months, they learned a lot of the basics, it is a good foundation for someone who is a beginner. My 6 yrs. daughter always greets me, Zhao Shang Hao whenever she wakes up in the morning, she knows colors pretty well plus all the things she learned. My 8 yrs. old is able and confidently counts to 1000 in Mandarin! And lastly my 10 year old speak Mandarin with an accent and intonation. I’m amazed at how he writes and reads the Chinese characters in his worksheet and is able to translate it for me in English. Overall, I highly recommend Happy Mandarin to those who are looking for a Mandarin Language school.
Mrs. Reem is an attentive and caring teacher. She carefully studies each child and tailors her lessons and home-learning assignments to each child individually rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Her support extends beyond the classroom, with regular WhatsApp messages, voice samples and an “open call” policy whereby children can contact her during the week for additional assistance as required.
She is very much loved by her students, not only as a teacher but also as someone with a genuine and heartfelt interest in their progress and development.
We feel so lucky to have gotten you as Nathan’s Chinese language teacher for the last year. Nathan started in your class with no knowledge of Chinese. Both John and I feel that he has learned so many new words and we are proud of his progress in your class.

Our 5-year-old son Alex has been in Kiko Laoshi’s class since the beginning of this term. She is amazing with children and the method used makes the child learn through engagement and games. The kids have a lot of fun during the lessons while learning at the same time. Within only a few months Alex was already able to count, sing, and recognize some Chinese characters and strokes and his vocabulary keeps growing on a weekly basis. The fact that parents are allowed to attend the class is also great, it allows us to share the experience with him and then be able to practise together at home which helps his progress considerably. Ms Reem, the founder of Happy Mandarin is a dynamic, vibrant, cheerful and friendly lady. She has a deep passion and remarkable determination to provide the best Mandarin lesson to every single one of her students. With her great vision, she leads a team of qualified, experienced and highly motivated teachers.
Ms Kaoli Laoshi is a wonderfully charming teacher. She creates a relaxed, friendly yet stimulating learning environment for her class students. She is dedicated and always delivers her planned homework for her students on time as promised. She takes extra effort to teach the students until they understand the lesson well. Although my daughter joined Kaoli Laoshi’s class just a couple of months ago, she already shows great motivation to do all her homework and study the HSK coursework.

I really enjoy coming to Miss Reem’s class every Saturday. She always begins her class in a very well-organized way and can manage her time very well. We love her sense of humour and find her classes very enjoyable.
I really like the way she treats all students with care and respect. Her class environment is very comfortable for students and their parents. Everyone can speak freely in class which creates an atmosphere of understanding in the class. She teaches us at an appropriate pace stopping to check on students’ engagement and understanding.
I appreciate her immediate and frequent feedback and she always encourages students and praises their answers. Her homework is also well planned with a variety of activities and provides parents with weekly review sheets that are very helpful. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the Happy Mandarin program which has enabled residents of Dubai to learn Mandarin to a very high standard. My special thanks to Mrs. Reem Laoshi who has brought in the very best of academics and practices into the program. Not only has she gathered a team of very capable and educated teachers in Happy Mandarin, but also she has led and managed perfectly making sure the personal need of each and every parent and student is met and their voice is heard. Otana joined Happy Mandarin less than a year ago when he was only three years and a half and did not know even ONE Chinese word. Meet Sandra, Ana and Ola, the mothers our happiest students, Sofia and Mughny and Nathan. Their dedication to making sure their children are inspired to learn the Chinese language is commendable and they are a role model to many of our other student mothers. Sandra, Ana and Ola come every Saturday, diligently, to attend the Chinese class along with their children – this allows them to learn the language as well but more importantly they are the biggest support to Sofia, Mughny and Nathan who are our best students in class and the fastest learners! They listen to instructions and teachings with a very keen ear and are always focussed on getting the most out of each session both them and their children. We enjoy their polite questions during class as they help other students learn better. They make notes page by page to help their children and themselves review work at home. They also enjoy sitting with their children while they complete their homework. Apart from this, they take initiative to assist class teachers make copies of both class and home assignment sheets. Sofia just scored a 95 out of 100 in her latest assesment – all a testimony to the hard work and dedication shown by Ana. Mughny is one of our best Chinese singers because of Ola’s dedication. We are so happy to have them as part of the Happy Mandarin family!

I would deeply like to thank you, my wonderful Chinese teacher, for giving me the opportunity to have free access to learning this new language with my children, Michelle and Antony. This is the best quality time ever that I have spent with my kids. Your only concern is the progress and the education of my kids, as well as for myself. You have a big heart and lots of patience. Teachers like you are hard to find and impossible to forget! Whenever my children hear your name, a big smile lights up on their faces, and your lessons always go by so quickly! I wouldn’t have thought that that my own 13 years old son, would sing the song for you in Chinese! MUGHNY
Meet Mughny, one of our finest students! Mughny’s story teaches us that sheer hard work and dedication can help you conquer all obstacles. When he joined our class all of 6 years, he had his mother for support, he really struggled with Pinyin letter pronunciations. But, he never gave up. He kept practicing it on and on till he got it right. Now, we can proudly say that he has the best Chinese character pronunciations in class. He always finishes all his homework and our favourite part is that he enjoys it immensely. He loves Saturdays – when he has his class and he enjoys attending our class with his mother. It is their special time together. He has a hidden talent – singing Chinese songs, and he is so good! He recently sang the Chinese anthem and he got a standing ovation from everyone in the class. ROHAN
My name is Rohan. I have been learning Chinese for almost 3 years with Mrs. Reem, or in Mandarin Chinese: Reem老师 (Reem Laoshi). I’ve been able to learn so much with Reem Laoshi. I enjoy her method of teaching, which combines daily Mandarin words, songs, poetry, proverbs, sayings, dialogues as well as the vocabularies from the book.
As someone who might be thinking of learning Mandarin Chinese, you’d probably be overwhelmed with the amount of Chinese characters you have to learn. Reem Laoshi teaches characters in a very set and strict manner. Her method of teaching Chinese characters closely mimics that of Chinese schools, in the sense that one must write the characters in a specific order and must make sure that their writing is correct and beautiful. Reem Laoshi studied Chinese calligraphy as a youth and thus treasures the importance of writing Chinese characters structurally correctly. Due to this, she pays a lot of importance to teaching her students the correct way of writing characters. My writing has so much improved, and now I am able to write both simple and complex characters correctly, quickly, fluently and confidently!
Reem Laoshi often shares stories from her childhood about the various interesting cultures and traditions of China. She doesn’t just rigidly stick to the textbook but gives extra information. To make sure we have a good understanding of the People’s Republic of China, she teaches Chinese history, geography, the National Anthem, culture, music, and if you’re lucky, Chinese food! After only 3 years in Reem Laoshi’s class(once a week), I am at HSK (汉语水平考试) Level 3 and I recently went on a “Student Exchange” program to Dalian and Beijing in China. I was able to handle the daily routine for me and my dad and speak Mandarin with local people confidently!
